Thai Teen Found Guilty of Lese-Majeste
Thanakorn "Petch" Phiraban, a leading LGBTQ activist, is one of the youngest to be charged with lese-majeste.

On 22 December 2022, at Nonthaburi Juvenile and Family Court, Thanakorn "Petch" Phiraban, was found guilty of lese-majeste and has been sentenced to 18 months (suspended). He is 19 years-old and one of the youngest to be charged with lese-majeste.
Petch is a leading LGBTQ activist who was accused of lese-majeste for his speech last year at Wongwienyai. He criticised the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the current King Vajiralonkorn. He was previously charged for another speech at Nonthaburi Pier and for dressing in crop-top style at Siam Paragon Department Store.
