Most Thai Parties Reject Reform of Article 112

While considering the positions of Thai political parties, Momentum divides them in three groups: Those supporting reform, rejecting reform, and with their position unclear.

In the first group, there are two political parties supporting reform of the lese-majeste law. The Move Forward Party states that the lese-majeste law violates the people’s freedom. The Thai Liberal Party also supports the reform of Article 112 but is campaigning for the separation of libel cases from lese-majeste cases. Meanwhile, there are several parties rejecting the reform. The Democrat Party cites that all countries in the world maintain a law that protects their leaders. The Bhumjaithai argues that it believes the majority of Thais do not see Article 112 problematic. The ruling Palang Pacharath Party affirms its obligation to defend the Thai nation, religion and monarchy. The Thai Pakdee (Loyal Thai) Party stresses that the existence of lese-majeste law as normal. The Chart Thai Pattana Party expressed its strong committee to defend the lese-majeste law. And the Thai Civilized Party cautions that the campaign for the reform of Article 112 could lead to a civil war. In the last group, the Pheu Thai party, backed by the deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, has not made its position clear. The party only said that it wanted to refrain from criticizing other parties’ position on Article 112.

พรรคการเมืองหลายพรรคไม่สนับสนุนการแก้ไขมาตรา 112

เพจ Momentum ได้สรุปเกี่ยวกับจุดยืนของพรรคการเมืองต่างๆ ต่อการปฏิรูปกฎหมายมาตรา 112 หรือกฏหมายหมิ่นพระบรมเดชานุภาพ ในโอกาสที่ไทยอาจจะมีการจัดการเลือกตั้งที่คาดว่าจะเกิดขึ้นในเดือนพฤษภาคม ปีหน้า โดย Momentum ได้แบ่งพรรคการเมืองออกเป็น 3 กลุ่ม ได้แก่กลุ่มที่สนับสนุนการปฏิรูป กลุ่มที่ไม่สนับสนุนการปฏิรูป และกลุ่มที่ยังไม่มีท่าทีที่ชัดเจน ในกลุ่มแรกนั้น มีเพียง 2 พรรคการเมืองเท่านั้น ได้แก่ พรรคก้าวไกลที่กล่าวว่า มาตรา 112 ละเมิดสิทธิของประชาชน และพรรคเสรีรวมไทยที่เห็นว่าควรแก้ไขมาตรา 112 แยกการดูหมิ่นประมาทออกจากการอาฆาตมาดร้าย ในส่วนของกลุ่มที่ปฏิเสธการปฏิรูป ได้แก่ พรรคประชาธิปัตย์ที่บอกว่า ไม่ต้องการแก้ไขมาตรา 112 เพราะไม่มีประเทศใดในโลกที่ไม่มีบทคุ้มครองประมุข พรรคภูมิใจไทยบอกว่า เชื่อว่าคนไทยส่วนใหญ่ไม่รู้สึกว่ามาตรา 112 คือปัญหา พรรคพลังประชารัฐบอกว่า มาตรา 112 ต้องมีไว้ เพราะเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการเทิดทูนสถาบันชาติ ศาสนา และพระมหากษัตริย์ พรรคไทยภักดีบอกว่า การมีมาตรา 112 เป็นเรื่องปกติ พรรคชาติไทยพัฒนาย้ำว่า หัวเด็ดตีนขาดต้องมีมาตรา 112 และพรรคไทยศรีวิไลย์บอกว่า หากปล่อยให้มีการรณรงค์แก้ไขมาตรา 112 อาจทำให้เกิดสงครามกลางเมือง จะมีแต่เพียงพรรคเดียว คือพรรคเพื่อไทยที่ยังไม่มีจุดยืนที่แน่ชัด โดยได้บอกแต่เพียงว่า ขอไม่วิจารณ์จุดยืนเรื่องนี้ของพรรคการเมืองต่างๆ รายละเอียด อ่านที่นี่
