The party statement said,
"As the party with most votes in the last election, it feel compelled to take the public concern over the excessive use of Article 112 to be discussed in the parliament."
This is the first time the Pheu Thai party raises the issue of lese-majeste as a party's platform. Meanwhile, the Progressive Party also calls for the reform of Article 112. It said, "The time is up." The Progressive Party is the reincarnation of the Future Forward Party, disbanded last year. Its original leader, Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, has been accused of lese-majeste for accusing King Vajiralonkorn of involvement in coronavirus vaccines procurement.
