Arnon Nampa was detained without trial in 2020 for 24 days but after Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha declared to use all laws including Lèse-majesté to the protesters in November 2020.

Arnon Nampa, one of the key protest leaders, currently under detention on lese-majeste charges, wrote an open letter to the German Ambassador to Bangkok thanking the support from Germany in the monitoring of the human rights situation in Thailand. A copy of the letter can be read below.
