Presumption of Innocence
One of the principles of universal human rights is known as the "Presumption of Innocence".
Presumption states that everyone accused of a crime should be presumed innocent until proven guilty. However, this principle has often been overlooked in cases involving political prisoners.
112WATCH, in collaboration with Kinjai Contemporary and PrachathipaType, invite you to explore the stories of political detainees, reflecting on their lives, dreams, and hopes – what has been hidden or lost after legal proceedings commenced. This exhibition reflects on the impact of being denied bail, the disproportionate nature of actions and punishments, and questions the principle of presumption of innocence.
Titled, "Presumption of Innoncence" (Thai name, "ซ่อน(ไม่)หา(ย)"), this exhibition features, among others, 112WATCH's original work on "Faces of Victims of 112," which was dispalyed at LeRoy Neiman Gallery at Columbia University last year. We bring back to life the human stories of those charged with Article 112.
Join us at this exhibition that encourages everyone to participate in bringing these stories out of the shadows.
