112WATCH in Global Solidarity

A joint statement by human rights organisations, including 112WATCH, expresses grave concern over Thailand's forcible return of UNHCR-recognised religious activist Y Quynh Bdap to Vietnam on November 28, 2025.

December 9, 2025

The co-signers of the joint statement assert that this action violated the principle of non-refoulement under both international law and Thailand's own domestic Act on the Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance.

Since his forced return, Vietnamese authorities have provided no information on the activist's whereabouts, raising serious fears of arbitrary detention, torture, and enforced disappearance.
