Young Protesters Accused of Lèse-majesté Remain in Prison

Denied bail: a large number of young protesters are still being held in remand prison.

It has been six months since the two leading protesters, Parit 'Penguin' Chiwarak and Panupong 'Mike' Jadnok, have been locked up in a Thai prison without trial. They have been accused of committing lèse-majesté for their call for an immediate royal reform. While Thailand has continued to suffer from political turmoil and a possible parliamentary collapse, a large number of young protesters have not been freed. A campaign for their emancipation must continue, as must a campaign for the abolition of Article 112.
